Over 2,500 anime-related items for sale, including Banksy, Studio Ghibli, Akira, Peanuts, Tim Burton, and more Heritage Auctions (headquarters: Texas, USA) will be holding the “Art of Anime & Everything Cool Auction 7th Edition” for five days from Friday, October 17th to Tuesday, October 21st, 2025. The auction will feature over 2,500 items from a range of works, including a collaboration between Banksy and The Simpsons, works celebrating Studio Ghibli’s 40th anniversary, the classic film “AKIRA,” the “Peanuts” franchise made famous by Snoopy, and films directed by Tim Burton, making it Heritage Auctions’ largest anime auction to date, spanning the entire history of animation art.

This year’s “Art of Anime & Everything Cool Auction 7th Edition features over 2,500 items from popular works from various eras and countries, including Japan. In particular, many items related to Studio Ghibli, which has captivated audiences both in Japan and overseas with its unique artistic expression and human-like characters since its founding in 1985 and has had a major impact on the world of animation and film, are being offered to commemorate its 40th anniversary. Also on display are the original hand-drawn artwork for the memorable opening credits of The Simpsons, created in 2010 by the enigmatic British street artist Banksy in collaboration with The Simpsons, as well as numerous items from classic films such as Akira, the Peanuts franchise featuring Snoopy, and films directed by Tim Burton. Heritage Auctions is the world’s largest collectibles auction house, specializing in collectible items for over 45 years. In July, the company announced that its total sales for the first half of 2025 (January through June) reached $962 million (approximately 142 billion yen). This marks the highest interim sales record in the company’s 49-year history, surpassing the record $924 million set in the same period last year. Amid this strong performance, Heritage Auctions’ animation division achieved a record high in 2024, grossing more than $17 million. The “Art of Anime & Everything Cool Auction Vol. 7,” held from October 17th to 21st, is an event that looks back on the history of anime, bringing together animation art from a variety of genres and eras, from hand-drawn works from the 1980s to modern digital works.
