Chemical substance management technical advisor 〈Seminar Purpose〉 There is a rapid movement around the world to restrict the production, use, and sale of not only PFOA and PFOS, but also other organic fluorine compounds known as PFAS. For example, Europe has proposed a wide-ranging restriction on PFAS, including fluororesin, and industries around the world are paying close attention to this trend. In the United States, many states, along with the federal government, are also moving forward with PFAS regulation. In particular, many American states are proposing restrictions on multiple products, and some states have already imposed restrictions on production, sales, and other aspects. As such, the movement to regulate PFAS is gaining momentum, and it is important to stay up-to-date with the latest information in order to respond to these restrictions within your company. This seminar will explain the basic characteristics and uses of PFAS, as well as the global POPs Convention, current PFAS regulations in Europe, the United States, and Canada, and the latest trends.
