Upon seeing the sparkling ocean, she felt that her child was a gift from the sea and gave him this name. In Hawaiian, Kai means sea (Kai) and La means sun (La). Apparently, when she was a child, local people in Hawaii told her, “Your smile is so cute and sparkling, it’s perfect!” Shiranase Kairi’s career began in showbiz, but she was drawn to the sea and entered the world of marine sports.
