●Tickets, priced at approximately 10,000 yen, sold out in just one week! Local cards featuring dams, castles, manholes, tourist spots, and more are rapidly gaining in popularity. The long-awaited “Local Card Summit,” a festival for local card enthusiasts, is finally being held for the first time at Tokyo Culture Culture in Shibuya! The event is organized by the “NISHIMURA PROJECT” (Nishimura Precision Topographic Model Co., Ltd., Musashino City, Tokyo; Representative Director: Daidouji Satoru), which teams up with local governments and businesses across the country to promote the appeal of their regions through designer manholes and local cards. In addition, the event will be produced by Hideto Yamada, the mastermind behind the manhole boom and creator of the “manhole card.” It promises to be a special day that will intrigue even non-fans. ●Comment from General Producer Hideto Yamada I am convinced that local cards have the potential to grow into a “culture” that Japan can be proud of around the world. However, through these 10 years of production, I’ve come to realize that simply polishing each individual card doesn’t fully utilize its potential. That’s why, while polishing each card, I also felt it was necessary to strengthen cooperation across the local card community and create a world in which “in Japan, visiting various places gives you a variety of cards as proof of your visit.” As a first step toward this goal, I planned the “Local Card Summit,” bringing together local card creators and collectors from across the country and serving as a starting point for “nurturing culture” together. ●A stellar lineup of local card presenters has gathered! Over 15 types of special cards for visitors! This first event is a must-see for local card fans across the country. Speaking will be six creators of popular series, including Roget Cards, Manhole Cards, World Manhole Collection, Trading Profile Cards, Bathhouse Collection Cards (FuroColle), MEICA Local Maze Cards, TORECO, and Station Cards. Each creator will talk about the behind-the-scenes production process, the thoughts they put into the cards, and the appeal of local cards. In addition, attendees will receive over 15 bonus cards. Venue-exclusive merchandise will also be available for purchase, including items that can only be purchased here. At the end of the event, each creator will announce their future goals for the second event. ● Participants can distribute and exchange their own trading cards! Collectors can also interact with each other! Many participants will create their own trading card-style promotional cards, “Trading Profile Cards (Trepro),” in advance. On the day of the event, participants who bring their cards will be able to distribute and exchange them with other participants. Even if you don’t have a card, you can receive one, so you can take home the cards of the friends you met as a “memento of the summit.” The local cards are likely to become a platform for new interactions.
