Yourself as you appear on social media and your everyday self. Pictures and words drawn by AI. What once seemed “somewhat unnatural” has now become accepted as normal. We live in an age where AI instantly generates text, images, videos, and code, turning everyone into an artist. The line between “real” and “fake” is blurring, and as we prioritize efficiency and speed, perhaps we’re losing sight of what’s truly “real.” In this exhibition, rather than beautifying the world instantly like a filter, the “fluctuation” and “warmth” that come from taking the time to draw by hand Carefully bring it to the surface. Portraying reality in the AI era.” After graduating from the Department of Design at Joshibi University of Art and Design, Kana Arimura has been depicting the modern world where anonymity and self-expression intersect, focusing on the theme of “maidens wearing rabbit masks.” Masks have transformed from a gateway to a dream world into an icon for surviving the modern world, and through the images of these girls, who combine cuteness and strength, she reflects the reality of our lives as we live in the present. In this interview, we spoke with him about the thoughts behind his solo exhibition “Real” at Tugboat, how he perceives “real” as changing due to AI and social media, and his outlook for his future creative endeavors.
