KENELE BOOKS, a publishing label operated by art goods manufacturer Kenelephant Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kenzo Ishiyama), will release “Katanekoken,” the first picture book by illustrator Sattou, known as the “Shoulder Width Evangelist,” on Friday, October 31, 2025. Sattou is an illustrator known for his striking works, characterized by their incredibly broad shoulders. His fan art, which incorporates popular characters and trending content into his own style, often sparks buzz on social media. Using these broad shoulders as a weapon, sattou has been active in comics and illustrations for many years, and now he’s taken on the challenge of creating a picture book for the first time. The resulting picture book, “Katanekoken,” makes full use of his unique style. Prior to the release of the picture book, a publication commemorative exhibition will be held at Poteto Children’s Bookstore in Kitahama, Osaka. In addition to pre-sales of the picture book, there will also be an exhibition of original artwork and original merchandise. ◇About “Katanekoken” One day, two hungry mice come across an unfamiliar restaurant.
