We are pleased to share comments from the members of Toi Toi Toi about their music video (MV). The song is the title track of their first single CD, due for release on October 22, 2025. The music video, released recently, symbolically depicts the anxieties and hopes each of the six members holds through the theme of “finding the perfect shoes.” Fans have responded enthusiastically, with comments such as “It conveys the kindness and strength that is so characteristic of Toi Toi Toi” and “It’s a tear-jerking MV.” The music video depicts the six members searching for their own individuality and embarking on a journey toward their dreams. Leader Taniya Kyoka said, “Our story overlaps with the shoe judging slips with Xs and △s. We’re no longer teenagers, but we were able to carve into this work the place we’ve finally reached,” revealing her determination as performers. Kaori Ichijo reflected on the filming, saying, “For the first time, I tried acting by ‘walking with a blank expression.’ When I tried to erase my emotions, the other members told me, ‘It’s a little scary!’ (laughs). But it was an opportunity for me to discover a new side of myself.” Tina Hoshino also said, “I felt that the paper with the X on it represented failure or setbacks. Then, in the cut where she looks up at her shoes, a glimpse of ‘hope’ appeared. At that moment, it reminded me of the feelings I had during my audition, and it warmed my heart.” Hashimoto Moeka also spoke of her reaction to the project, saying, “The lamp scene, filmed amidst the smoke, was memorable. Seeing the footage bathed in light, I felt, ‘This is Toi Toi Toi.'” Meanwhile, Sakura Momo said, “The moment the paper airplane I folded and flew flew straight, the message of the work resonated with me. With the setting of being a showgirl in my previous life in mind, I expressed ‘reincarnation’ through my hairstyle as well.” Maegaki Sara also said, “I love the scene where she’s looking for her shoes. It’s like a journey to find ‘something that’s just for me,’ and the opening scene where she sings with a straight face is particularly memorable.”

I want to be someone who can give people the push they need with the Toi Toi Toi charm.” Hashimoto added, “No matter how difficult it may be, I believe that if you keep trying, you will see the best view.” Maegaki concluded with a powerful statement, “My original desire to ‘save those in distress’ has not changed.”

Just listening to it gets me excited, and the ever-changing developments never bore me. The lyrics are packed with meaning, and the final phrase really hits home every time. In the MV, each member receives a piece of paper with an X on it that reads “Not for You.” This was my first time attempting a scene where I “walked listlessly with a blank expression.” I tried to act natural in response to the director’s instructions, and it was a completely new discovery for me. The other members described it as “honestly a little scary,” so I went all out. Sakura Momo: The scene where she folded and flew a paper airplane left a lasting impression. The moment it flew straight, the message of the work resonated with me. For her stage costume, I focused on the choreography of
“fluttering fabric,” creating a cute, flowing effect with her sleeves and skirt. Also, with her “past life as a showgirl” in mind, she wore half-twin hairstyles in casual scenes and high pigtails in her idol costume. Her hairstyle expressed her “reincarnation.” Taniya Kyoka: Our story overlaps with the details of the “shoe judging slip” marked with Xs and △s. The message that runs throughout the entire film is that six people who are no longer teenagers and have had a variety of experiences have finally arrived at this place. I think the casual clothing segment is the first time we’ve seen the six of us in our natural state, which is rare in official videos. Hashimoto Moeka: The “lamp part” left a strong impression. Filming in the smoke was difficult, but watching the video made me feel like I’d discovered a new side of myself. The lip-syncing was also carefully portrayed as part of the “magic.” Hoshino Tina: The paper cut with the “X” on it seemed to symbolize past setbacks and “failures.” The scene afterward, where she looks up at her shoes, gives her a glimpse of “hope.” It reminded me of the way I felt the moment I found the audition on YouTube, and it warmed my heart. Even members who usually smile take on serious expressions in the music video. For example, Maegaki’s serious singing will surely be a refreshing experience for fans. Maegaki Sara: The story of “finding the perfect shoes” is ultimately a journey to find “something that’s just for me.” I love the
shoe-hunting scene. In the acting, we tried different expressions, the opposite of our usual smiling faces, such as singing with a serious face at the beginning and during the chorus. It was a bit embarrassing to act with the other members, but the finished product was
refreshing. ◇ A message to my fans Kaori Ichijo: I want to continue to bring happiness by cherishing “love, gratitude, and smiles.” With the magic spell “Toi Toi Toi” in mind, I will continue to work to bring smiles to many people’s faces. Sakura Momo: I want Toi Toi Toi to become a “third place” outside of school or work, a place that gives people meaning in life. Through our live shows, I want to provide an experience that makes people think, “Life isn’t a waste.” Taniya Kyoka: Toi Toi Toi is a charm that says, “Everything will be okay, everything will go well.” We want our existence to be a driving force in your daily lives, bringing happiness to everyone. Hashimoto Moeka: No matter how difficult the times, I believe that if you keep trying, you’ll see the “best view.” I want to inspire people to pursue their dreams, regardless of age or circumstances. Hoshino Tina: Regardless of age, the moment you want to do something is the “moment to take on a challenge.” Toi Toi Toi is a charm that says, “It’ll be okay, everything will work out.” I want to be someone who encourages people to take action. Maegaki Sara: “I want to help people who are suffering.” That was my initial reason for applying. That feeling hasn’t changed to this day. I want to continue bringing happiness to my fans with the magic spell “Toi Toi Toi.” ■Toi Toi Toi 1st single CD title song “Toi Toi Toi” MV overview
