Food Bank Second Harvest Okinawa is an NPO that works to reduce food waste and provide food assistance in Okinawa Prefecture. It collects surplus food from food producers, wholesalers, and retailers and provides it free of charge to those in need, including those living in poverty or those struggling to make ends meet. Aiming to reduce food waste and realize a sustainable, circular society, the organization carries out its activities through local welfare organizations and individuals. This event aims to raise awareness of Food Bank Second Harvest Okinawa and increase support, and we have invited artists who support the organization’s mission. In the fall of 2021, we donated a commercial refrigerator/freezer to Food Bank Second Harvest Okinawa, which is using it to store food donated by various companies.
