Tower Records Inc. Press Release: October 20, 2025 Tower Records Shibuya undergoes major renovation. Shibuya’s cultural hub aims to become a new mecca for “music” and “oshikatsu.” Renovations will begin gradually on Tuesday, November 4th, with a full reopening on Saturday, February 28th next year.

Features of the Tower Records Shibuya Store’s Renovated Floor ◆1st Floor: An immersive space unique to an entertainment shop The first floor, the face of the Shibuya store, has been renovated into an entertainment space symbolizing Shibuya. An experiential welcome gate will be introduced as a new, unprecedented display method. Mirrors will be set up near the ceiling inside the gate, creating a space that will make you want to post it on social media. Don’t miss the exclusive background music that can only be heard inside the gate. Once you pass through the gate, LED signage will appear at the back, creating a new musical experience.

From major to indie, we will recreate the diverse appeal of J-POP and become a base for disseminating “Japanese pop culture” that will attract attention from all over the world. ◆4th Floor: Life-size photo spot where you feel like you’re next to the artist On the 4th floor, which focuses on idols and anime/game titles, the popular photo spot has been converted into a private room, creating a more immersive space. By placing a giant mirror next to the life-size visuals, it will become a “dance studio-style photo spot” where you can easily take photos as if you were standing on the same stage as the artists. This is a specially designed space where the lighting can be changed to suit the characteristics of the artist or event. In the anime and game corner, the number of racks has been increased by 1.5 times compared to the previous number. In response to the growing popularity of Japan’s famous anime music, we will be increasing the product variety.

We’ll also be offering our own original craft beer. Enjoy a freshly poured beer from the tap while listening to the music in the bar.
