This exhibition is a large-scale
installation spanning two floors, centered around painting, light and shadow, reflections, and music. It captures the “faint presence” of breath, something as invisible and elusive as time. This presence passes through the paper, appears and disappears, and drifts between spaces. While enveloping the world like a veil, they also subtly reveal what lies beyond, inviting viewers into a quiet, profound world where the two seem to blend together in a single breath. In addition, as a homage to “time,” this exhibition will feature artwork created in collaboration with traditional Kyoto artisans, as well as
collaborative items with watchmakers from the artist’s native Switzerland. The spirit of preserving fine things for a long time, which resides in the handiwork of Kyoto artisans, and the Swiss culture of carefully passing down a single watch from generation to generation, embodies the desire to find value in things that have aged over time and to pass them on to the future. We express this resonance of the spirituality that lives in both Switzerland and Kyoto through art.
