The Yoshimoto Drama Club talks about Japanese dramas in a video called “Yoshimoto Drama Club Wants to Talk About Dramas!” The segment “Let’s Talk About the Netflix Series ‘Anonymous Lovers'” will be available on the official J:COM YouTube channel on Monday, October 20th. The four members currently write a monthly column in J:COM’s web magazine, “J:magazine!”, called “Yoshimoto Drama Club’s Drama Window,” which introduces recommended dramas. These four members appear on “Yoshimoto Drama Club’s Drama Talk!”, where they delve deeply into the appeal of Japanese dramas within a set monthly theme. Okarina (Okazu Club) is our guest and we’ll be discussing the Netflix series “Anonymous Lovers” (currently streaming), starring Shun Oguri, Han Hyo-joo, Yuri Nakamura, and Jin Akanishi. This romantic comedy follows Lee Hana (Han Hyo-joo), a genius chocolatier who can’t stand the sight of others, and Fujiwara Sosuke (Oguri Shun), a germaphobe heir to a wealthy family, as they feud but are drawn to each other. Han Hyo-joo, who played the lead role in the hit Korean drama “Spring Waltz” (2006), debuted in 2005, the same year as Murakami. Okarina expressed surprise, saying, “He was really cute. I thought he was about 23 years old (based on his appearance), so I thought it was a love story about an age gap.” Murakami also passionately commented, “I was surprised that (Oguri) didn’t say, ‘I’m going to portray a love story different from the ones with younger people,’ but that he hit the nail right on the head.” Okarina also commented, “It’s been a while since I’ve watched a romance drama, so I wondered if I could keep watching it, but it was really good. It’s new, yet nostalgic!”
