Pets Allowed & New Activities Now Available The “Chibam Land Light Paper-Cut Night Walk,” an immersive art event featuring light and sound, is currently being held at Chibamura Auto Campers Resort (formerly Takahara Chiba Village), located in the forests of Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture. The fall/winter edition of the event kicked off on Friday, October 3, 2025. Now in its fourth year, this event is a popular evening event representing Minakami Town, attracting a total of over 15,000 visitors to date. This season, there will be a special fall/winter limited edition version with Halloween and Christmas themes. In addition, pets will be allowed for a limited time from Friday, October 24th to Monday, November 24th (national holiday), providing a special opportunity to enjoy the magical night forest with your beloved dog, a member of your family. ������ The Story Behind Chibarm Land’s Light Paper-Cut Night Walk This venue, Chiba Mura Auto Campers Resort, was formerly “Kogen Chiba Mura,” a nature experience facility beloved by Chiba citizens and local residents for over 50 years. Every year, second-year students from Chiba City’s junior high schools visit for school trips and skiing experiences. This beloved resort was like a “second home” for many. The name “Chibamura” has also long been a familiar and special word to the local residents of the Aimata district of Minakami Town (formerly Aimata, Niiharu Village). Inheriting that spirit, after the transfer in 2020, we retained the name and began operating the public facility as the “Chibamura Auto Campers Resort,” utilizing it for private use. In the fall of 2021, while searching for ways to utilize the vast forest and two buildings, we came across the “Light Paper-Cut Night Walk,” an art event hosted by light paper-cutting artist Atsumi Sakai and musical saw player Hajime Sakita. When the two men visited the area during the snowy winter of 2022, a story was born from the nature and memories passed down over the ages. Their imagination, “Perhaps fictional creatures have long lived in this forest,” took shape, and the world of “Chibam Land” was born. The experience of walking while admiring light paper cutouts projected onto buildings and trees continues to enlighten the hearts of many as a “quiet and moving experience of walking through a forest at night,” even at a time when fireworks festivals and other events have been difficult to hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Search for traces of chibarm (short video) Bring a UV light and search for traces of chibarm along the night walk course. It’s up to you to find over 40 traces. Starting this year, we’re introducing experiential content that lets you explore the forest at night. “Search for traces of Chibarm!” is now available. Participants will use a special UV light to search for “trace signs of Chibarm” lurking along the night walk course. You’ll have to wait until you get there to find out where they’ll appear, whether it’s on the walls of buildings, tree trunks, or in the shadows of stones. This is an exploration-based night activity that will captivate both children and adults. ������ Bring your pet for a special evening experience
