Kyoto textile brand “SOU・SOU” (Representative Director: Takeyuki Wakabayashi) will be holding the “Living Beauty by SOU・SOU SHANGHAI” exhibition at FOSUN FOUNDATION in Shanghai from October 23rd to November 2nd. The textile design, featuring a white magnolia motif as the key visual, represents the friendship between Shanghai and Kyoto. While learning from traditional Chinese techniques, we aim to create a new oriental brand that combines the charms of Japan and China. We are truly honored to be holding our first overseas exhibition at FOSUN FOUNDATION. This new venture for SOU・SOU begins here in Shanghai. SOU・SOU style, new oriental fashion, and traditional Chinese fabrics The kimono, a traditional garment, has evolved with a uniquely Japanese sensibility while being influenced by China. SOU・SOU is updating kimono culture, which is on the verge of fading away, with its pop textile designs and unique perspective. Now, after
encountering the traditional Chinese fabric “xiangunsha,” SOU・SOU is proposing a new SOU・SOU style that resonates with the aesthetic sensibilities of Japan and China. Playing with Textile Design Visual art created in collaboration with Kyoto creative company “1→10” will adorn the venue. Touch the floating number pattern “SO-SU-U,” peer into a kaleidoscope of textile designs, and see SOU・SOU deportare’s character “depo nyan” pop up out of nowhere… Visitors will be invited into the world of textiles in this interactive art corner. “SOU・SOU VOYAGEme” is your companion on your travels around the world. SOU・SOU is launching a new bag brand, “SOU・SOU VOYAGEme.” The brand aims to offer high-quality travel bags from KAILING, a company trusted by luxury brands around the world. The brand offers fun, pop, and cute luggage that’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, making your travels even more enjoyable. SOU・SOU Museum Shop, Workshop We will have a wide selection of items created specially for the Shanghai exhibition. We will also be holding furoshiki workshops and tea ceremonies.
