Drawing inspiration from the surrounding nature and culture, his work reflects a deep connection to place and the spirit of aloha. His creative journey begins with exploration, paddling out to surf breaks, hiking beautiful trails, and observing the intricate details that define each island, while collecting sketches and photographs. These serve as the foundation for his studio practice, where he combines traditional techniques like acrylic washes and silkscreen printing with digital illustration to create works that are both nostalgic and contemporary. Through his art, Nick aims to inspire viewers to experience the wonder, warmth, and adventurous spirit that characterize Hawaiian life.
