Since her debut in 1989, Lisa Ono has spread the appeal of bossa nova throughout Japan with her natural singing voice and rhythmic guitar playing. She has announced that she will be holding “Lisa Ono My Songs ~My Favorite Songs~” at NHK Osaka Hall on Sunday, March 8th of next year. This time, titled “Ono Lisa My Songs ~ My Favorite Songs,” In addition to bossa nova masterpieces, we’ve also included a variety of popular songs familiar to Japanese people, J-POP classics, and film soundtracks. Cover songs from various genres are arranged with Lisa Ono’s signature bossa nova sound. He spent his childhood in Brazil until the age of 10 and began singing and playing guitar at the age of 15. He debuted in 1989 with the album “Katopiri.” His natural vocals, rhythmic guitar playing, With his charming smile, he quickly spread bossa nova throughout Japan. His 1999 album “Dream” sold over 200,000 copies, and he has won the Japan Gold Disc Award in the Jazz category four times. In 2013, he was awarded the Order of Rio Branco by the Brazilian government, solidifying his position as a leading figure in bossa nova in Japan. He has performed with renowned artists such as the god of bossa nova, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and jazz samba master João Donato, and has actively performed in New York, Brazil, and various Asian countries, earning him high praise overseas. In 2023, the 80-track joint best-of album “Amor pela Bossa Nova: The Best of Lisa Ono” will be released simultaneously by Universal Music and Sony Music. In 2024, she will celebrate her 35th anniversary with anniversary concerts held throughout Japan and Asia.
