Location: Minamitane Town Photo: Hirohiko Koyamada The Tanegashima Space Art Festival Executive Committee (located in Minamitane-cho, Kumage-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture) will hold the “Tanegashima Space Art Festival 2025” from Saturday, November 8th to Monday, November 24th, 2025. Under the slogan “Encounter with the Unknown,” we aim to provide visitors with an experience that fuses space art with the natural beauty of Tanegashima, allowing them to feel closer to space and experience a sense of anticipation for the future. This year’s event theme is “Premonition.” A total of 22 artists active around the world are scheduled to present 31 pieces of artwork, including performances. The Tanegashima Space Art Festival was launched in Minamitane Town, home to the JAXA Tanegashima Space Center. In an environment where visitors can come into close contact with cutting-edge science and engineers from a wide range of fields, the festival aims to provide a forum for generating unconventional ideas by viewing space not only from the perspective of science and technology but also from the perspective of culture and art.
