On the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, Japan’s national team sends a message of “peace” and “challenge” to the world ~ Captivating the world with a first-of-its-kind acrobatic routine ~ On October 18, 2025, at Miss Grand International 2025, one of the world’s largest international beauty pageants, held in Bangkok, Thailand, Japan’s representative, Erika Ishibashi (28), placed in the world’s Top 22. This competition, dubbed “the world’s most difficult beauty pageant,” attracted participants from approximately 80 countries and regions. Ishibashi achieved impressive results, placing in the top 20 in both the swimsuit and national costume competitions, and in the top 22 overall. After graduating from university, she worked as an English teacher and is currently active as a professional performer. She won the runner-up prize at the 2024 Miss Grand Japan pageant, and used that experience to finally take home the grand prize in the 2025 competition. ■ Comment from CEO Eriko Yoshii “On a stage where representatives from around the world gathered, Ishibashi delivered a dignified performance and demonstrated a strong presence.
