Dressed in costumes based on the theme of “Happy Patisserie,” Snow Miku and her pet character, Rabbit Yukine (hereafter referred to as Yukine), will enliven Hokkaido. Since Crypton Future Media, Inc., the developer of Hatsune Miku, a singing voice synthesis software and virtual singer, is based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, the festival has been held in Hokkaido every year since 2010, marking its 17th consecutive year. This year’s costume theme is “Happy Patisserie”! The costume design will be decided through public submissions and voting! The costume designs to be worn by Snow Miku and Yukine at the SNOW MIKU Festival were open to the public through the “Piapro Official Collaboration” project on the submission and collaboration site “piapro.” The theme for the 2026 costumes was “Happy Patisserie.” Of the six finalist designs, cold_air’s costume design was selected by fan vote.

I knew about this costume competition at the time, but I gave up on participating because I didn’t feel I had the skills. And now, I finally mustered up the courage to apply! The theme this time was “Happy Patisserie.” Even from the rough sketch stage, I wanted to create a design that would better reflect the essence of Snow Miku (Hatsune Miku). I’ve looked forward to seeing all the previous SNOW MIKUs every year, so being able to be involved in this one as the main visual is truly a dream come true!
