Calligrapher Ishijo Kaneda, known as the “ink magician” for his flowing, powerful lines and calligraphy works that speak to the soul of those who see them, will be holding the “Ichigo Ichie” exhibition at Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store, featuring top Japanese singer Hiromi Go, who continues to evolve powerfully with the times. After reading Hiromi Go’s book “The Golden Sixties” (Gentosha), Kaneda was so impressed by the philosophy of life embodied in each and every word that he decided to hold this exhibition, “Ichigo Ichieten.” The title embodies the joy of a fateful encounter and a passionate encouragement to “live.” More than 30 works featuring lyrics extracted from numerous famous songs, including “240 Million Eyes” and “Otome Samba,” are on display at the venue. Each beautiful word is given added impact and presence by Kaneda’s profound use of ink and skillful brushwork. Hiromi Go will also be visiting the Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store event space on November 10th. During the event, customers who spend over 300,000 yen (tax included) will be able to participate in a photo session with Hiromi Go, who will be visiting on Monday, November 10th. *Scheduled visits may be subject to change or cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances.
