“Yodo Sanpo” Kyoto Racecourse, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, has asked Miyajima Mina, whose debut novel “Naruse Will Take Over the World” won 20 awards, including the 2024 Booksellers’ Award, to collaborate. Miyajima, who visited Kyoto Racecourse almost every week during her university days, has written a bonus essay, “Yodo Stroll,” featuring Naruse Akari, the protagonist of the Naruse series, and others. In “Yodo Sanpo,” author Miyajima strolls around Kyoto Racecourse with Naruse and his childhood friend Shimazaki to watch the races. Miyajima’s memorable races and memories of racehorses are also depicted, and Naruse develops new ambitions. Currently living in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Letters, Kyoto University. In 2021 (Reiwa 3), she won the triple prize of the Grand Prize, Reader’s Award, and Tomochika Award at the R-18 Literature Award for Women by Women at “Thank You Seibu Otsu Store.” In 2023, she made her debut with “Naruse is Going to Take Over the World,” which included this work. It won 20 awards, including the Shizuoka Bookstore Award Grand Prize in the Novel Category, the Tsubota Joji Literary Award, and the 2024 Bookstore Award, and became a hot topic.
