She was the first Japanese to win the 10th Antonio Pedrotti International Conducting Competition. She also won the Audience Award and the Pedrotti Society Award, making her the youngest winner and the first to win three awards. She was the first woman to win the runner-up award at the 9th Arturo Toscanini International Conducting Competition. She was awarded the 12th Hideo Saito Memorial Fund Award. In 2009, she was selected as one of Newsweek Japan’s “100 Most Respected Japanese People in the World.” She has performed with major Japanese orchestras, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
