Design and deliver one-of-a-kind Imari and Arita ware! A limited number of hometown tax return gifts will be available in collaboration with the movie “Zombie Land Saga: Yumegin ga Paradise”! Starting Friday, October 24, 2025, Saga Prefecture will launch a new initiative utilizing “iroe,” a ceramic painting experience app developed by the Saga Ceramics Research Center in 2023.

Skilled traditional craftsmen of Imari and Arita ware will then hand-paint the patterns one by one, and deliver the one-of-a-kind piece to the donor. This is the first initiative in Japan* in which ordinary users create designs on an app, have traditional craftsmen recreate them, and offer them as products. *This is the first initiative in Japan where traditional craftsmen recreate and offer designs created by general users using an app (according to Saga Prefecture). Also, the animated film “Zombie Land Saga,” set in Saga, will be released on the same day. To commemorate the release of “Yumegin ga Paradise,” we’re collaborating with the film. This project allows you to freely combine original Zombie Land Saga characters with traditional Imari and Arita ware patterns on the app to create your own design. Based on the completed design, the characters will be reproduced using a print transfer, and the patterns will be hand-painted by traditional craftsmen. This is a limited edition gift of 100. This initiative, by combining digital technology with traditional crafts, aims to bring the appeal of traditional crafts closer to many people, create new career opportunities for traditional craftspeople, and promote the ceramics industry. It follows seven girls who have become zombies and who work as an idol group called “Franchouchou” to save the prefecture. Various spots and gourmet spots in Saga Prefecture are featured in the series. In addition to winning first place in the “Internet Users’ Serious Choice! Anime General Election 2018 Annual Grand Prize” survey conducted on the video streaming service Nico Nico Douga, it also won the Grand Prix in the TV category of the Anime of the Year competition at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) 2019.
