It conveys the meaning of a single exhibition of works created by 10 generations of Olympic athletes and their disciples. This project was realized with the desire of former WorldSkills participants to pass on their experiences to the next generation and contribute to the jewelry industry. Comments from project initiators Daigo Matsumura and Saki Nakano “Participating in the National Skills Olympics during my student days allowed me to thoroughly master basic techniques. Because I acquired the essential skills of a professional craftsman, such as accuracy and speed, while still a student, I was able to tackle the next step of work quickly, even though many new employees struggle with their first assignments after joining the company. Another major benefit was that I was able to broaden my repertoire of skills by receiving professional-level instruction that wasn’t taught in school and receiving accurate advice based on the real-life experiences of alumni. Based on these experiences, I hope to convey the essence of “craftsmanship” to students who love jewelry making through this project, aiming for an exhibition that will serve as a guide for the next generation.
