Yuko Suzuhana, who is also active as the vocalist of the Japanese musical instrument band Wagakki Band, will release her new solo album “SAMURAI DIVA” on Wednesday, October 29th. The album’s title track, “SAMURAI DIVA,” which serves as the album’s opening theme, was released digitally on Wednesday, October 22nd. The music video will also be premiered at 8 PM that same day. The album’s opening track, “SAMURAI DIVA,” was composed by composer Kohei Tanaka, who has worked on numerous anime series such as “ONE PIEACE” and “Sakura Wars,” and features guest musician Hideki Togi, a spectacular collaboration. The song further deepens the unique worldview that fuses traditional Japanese music with orchestral sounds, expressing the magnificent and powerful “beauty of Japan.” Composer Kohei Tanaka states, “The theme is elegance, grace, and beauty, yet supple strength. The grand-scale orchestra and hard rock, like the Manchu Han Banquet, make this one song the epitome of Suzuhana’s song.” The music video, which will be released at 8:00 PM on the 22nd, also features guest appearances by Hideki Togi, who plays the sho and hichiriki. The mysterious tones of these Japanese instruments add even more depth and majesty to the song, and the classical elements of the string quartet add to the music, creating a musical world where Japanese and Western influences intertwine exquisitely. Furthermore, Yuko Suzuhana herself performs sword dance and Japanese traditional dance. He serves as the vocalist (leader) of the Wagakki Band and was also the founder of the band. He began classical piano at the age of three and shigin, shibu, and kenbu at the age of five. Graduated from Tokyo College of Music with a major in Instrumental Music (Piano). He is deeply involved in the field of education, having obtained a junior high and high school music teaching license. In 2011, he won first place at the Columbia Records National Gin’ei Competition. In 2025, he founded the Suzuka-ryu Gindo school and became its head, active as “Suzuka Keisei.” Furthermore, as a man of ideas with excellent planning skills, he engages in a wide range of creative endeavors, including writing music, producing various events, and producing artists. In 2024, he published his first book, “Uta Iroha,” in which he expresses his passion for music in his own words. He has also worked as a voice actor and radio personality, building a track record in a wide range of artistic fields. In 2013, he also founded the eight-member rock band “Wagakki Band,” which combines traditional Japanese instruments with rock music. As both vocalist and leader, her signature song “Senbonzakura,” a cover of a popular VOCALOID song, has been played over 170 million times, and her album “Yasou Emaki” reached number one on the Oricon charts.
