Press release: October 22, 2025 To Members of the Press As part of the pre-events for the “Okayama Inclusive Festival 2026,” we have collaborated with children and students from special needs schools in Okayama Prefecture to create an original art tapestry for Omotemachi Shopping Street! 13 special needs schools from Okayama Prefecture will participate, and original art tapestries will be exhibited in the Omotemachi Shopping Arcade in February 2026! “Okayama Inclusive Festival 2026” will be held in February 2026. During the festival (February 1-15, 2026), original art tapestries will be displayed in Omotemachi Shopping Arcade. This tapestry was created by children and students from 13 special needs schools in Okayama Prefecture, and is a new initiative that connects artists and children with disabilities with the local community. We hope that this initiative will encourage interaction between special needs schools, people with disabilities, and local residents, leading to the creation of a city where everyone can live in peace. Background and Purpose ・Okayama Inclusive Festival 2026 is an event launched in 2024 with the concept of “celebrating both the joy and pain of living.” – As a pre-event, we will collaborate with special needs schools in Okayama Prefecture to create original art tapestries to decorate the shopping district. – By sharing children’s creativity with local residents, we will create opportunities for deeper interaction and understanding. Features and Highlights – Original artwork by children and students from special needs schools will be displayed in the Omotemachi Shopping Arcade. – Original art tapestries, each unique from each school, will line the shopping district, making walking around town even more enjoyable. – This will create an opportunity for local residents to see the children’s activities and increase interest in the event. Event Overview ・Posting Period: February 1st – February 15th, 2026 (planned) ・Posting location: Omotemachi Shopping Street ・Production period: September to November 2026 ・Production method: Members of Arigato Farm with disabilities will visit special needs schools as instructors. They will create original art tapestries together with the children and students in a workshop format. Some schools also ask students to create their own artwork on campus and submit it. ・Common theme: “The Magic of Happiness” Through the artwork created by children using their own imagination, we hope to deliver a warm message to visitors to the town. *Workshop dates and
