A long-running event to fully enjoy the long late autumn nights ~Enjoy art, music, agriculture, food, and hot springs while gazing at the amber-colored symbolic tree~ VELVETA DESIGN (Headquarters: Suginami-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shigeki Hirayama; hereinafter “Velvetta Design”), which handles various spatial creations based on the theme of “designing the atmosphere,” has been tasked with designing the symbol tree and lighting effects for “Amber Night and Marche 2025,” which will be held at Tokachigawa Onsen in Otofuke Town, Hokkaido, from Saturday, November 1, 2025. The second annual “Amber Night and Marche 2025” is being held by the Tokachigawa Onsen Ryokan Association at Roadside Station Garden Spa Tokachigawa Onsen (14 Tokachigawa Onsen Kita, Otofuke-cho, Kato-gun, Hokkaido) until Sunday, December 7th (closed every Tuesday).

“Amber Night and Marche 2025” Symbol Tree and Decorations A symbolic tree of healing enveloped in warm amber light The symbolic tree of the event will sparkle in a warm amber color in the Karamatsu Corridor at Roadside Station Garden Spa Tokachigawa Onsen, warming the hearts of all who visit. This year, the light display will extend from the entrance to the Karamatsu Corridor, and a new fragrance display will be introduced throughout the building, allowing you to enjoy the soothing scent of wood! This will heighten the excitement of reaching the tree. Additionally, a new video display will be installed at the Iwaza rock urn at Deyu, creating a world where light sparkles on the sparkling surface of the water. The charm of the Tokachi River is fully captured in the theme of “amber,” the color that symbolizes the one-of-a-kind Moor Hot Springs. Tokachigawa Onsen is known for its amber-colored “Mohr’s Water,” a rare sight even in Japan. “Mohr” comes from the German word for lignite, and “Mohr’s Water” is a hot spring that springs up through a layer of lignite formed over time by the accumulation of plants that grew wild along the banks of the Tokachi River in ancient times. Tokachigawa Onsen contains a large amount of organic plant matter, making it a rare hot spring resource in the world compared to typical mineral hot springs. The eastern Hokkaido region, home to Tokachigawa Onsen, is home to the hot spring. The “Amber Night and Marche 2025” event aims to share the charms of this region, where visitors from Japan and abroad can enjoy abundant nature, agriculture, food, and hot springs all in one place. Experience all the deliciousness and fun of Tokachi at our markets and workshops. At the Marche, shops selling Tokachi sake, wine, cheese, food items like mall hot spring bread, and fresh local vegetables will appear on a daily and weekly basis. The flavors you can experience will change depending on the day you participate, so it’s fun to visit multiple times. In addition, there will be workshops by local creators, sales of their works, and booths offering a glimpse into the current state of agriculture in Tokachi, one of Hokkaido’s leading agricultural regions.
