steAm BAND, a general incorporated association (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture), has begun accepting entries and mentoring reservations for the “Learning Concert Contest,” an inquiry-based contest designed to help participants realize their intellectual curiosity through dialogue with experts, starting Monday, October 13, 2025 (national holiday). The organization is headed by Sachiko Nakajima, representative director of steAm Inc. (located in Toshima-ku, Tokyo) and producer of the signature pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, “Playground of Life: Jellyfish Pavilion” (theme: “Enhancing Life”), and chaired by Hiroshi Suzuki (Professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy, The University of Tokyo). The organization’s mission is to bring about a revolution in play and learning both in Japan and abroad, and it will be holding an annual “Learning Concert Contest” starting in 2022. This contest is aimed at children, including preschoolers and high school students, as well as seniors aged 60 and over. It was designed to provide participants with an opportunity to connect with experts in a variety of fields, deepen their learning in their areas of interest, and foster innovation and communication in the STEAM field. Entry and mentoring applications began on Monday, October 13, 2025 (national holiday). We hope that the multiple mentoring sessions with diverse experts will foster participants’ curiosity and creativity, providing invaluable personal nourishment and inspiring social change. Those who wish to receive mentoring (optional) must register on the official LINE account by Wednesday, October 29, 2025, and apply. The final deadline for entries is Monday, December 15, 2025, and applicants must also submit a video of no more than three minutes, which is the first round of judging.
