Location: Inside the exhibition venue Period: November 24th (Monday) – November 30th (Sunday), scheduled for one hour starting at 12:15 each day *Only those who enter the exhibition at the designated time can view it. *Start and end times may change on the day. *Please refrain from taking photos or staying for long periods of time while the artist is drawing. Exhibition Contents The exhibition will feature approximately 100 works, including dozens of illustrations created specifically for the event, a newly drawn illustration of “Bhavan Shi” from Fate/Grand Order designed by Kei Mochizuki, as well as original illustrations and past works. The exhibition space is divided into three themes: “Boredom,” “Noise,” and “Blindness.” It challenges the current situation in which the inherent appeal of artworks and the intentions of artists are obscured by an abundance of numbers and information. The exhibition aims to create an experience that allows visitors to confront their own aesthetic sense and rediscover the inherent value of artworks. Concept design, exhibition direction, and design were handled by art director Tomoyuki Arima (Nippon Design Center). In an age where a large number of illustrations are consumed every day, this exhibition allows fans of Kei Mochizuki and anyone interested in creativity to take a deep look at a single painting. Artist Director Comment Kei Mochizuki Comments This is Kei Mochizuki. I will be holding a solo exhibition titled “Zoku Sekai.” I have decided to hold this exhibition in order to explore the meaning of my current worldly existence, who I am as an illustrator, and what the value of life is. I hope to be able to express my thoughts, joy, anger, and resignation through my art. I would be happy if you came to see it. I will do my best. Comment from Tomoyuki Arima I will be participating in Kei Mochizuki’s solo exhibition “Zoku Sekai.” I feel a sense of empathy with Mochizuki-san. He shares my own expectations for the present time and environment, as well as the same amount of anxiety, and my way of thinking about what is good to do from that perspective (even if it’s not something that’s welcomed). This exhibition marks the artist’s second in six years since his first solo
exhibition, “Make It a Shape of Love,” held in 2019. It features approximately 100 pieces, including dozens of illustrations created specifically for the event, as well as original illustrations and past works. The title “Zoku Sekai” (Secular World) was chosen with the aim of creating an environment in which creators and fans can more deeply connect through their work in an information-saturated society, and of enriching and enriching the creative activities of creators through a more multifaceted evaluation.
