To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Family Computer game “Valkyrie’s Adventure,” which was released in 1986, Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. began accepting pre-orders for the “Valkyrie’s Adventure” 40th Anniversary Official Record Collection on its entertainment commerce site, “ASOBI STORE,” from 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 23rd. *”Valkyrie’s Adventure” 40th Anniversary Period: Thursday, October 23, 2025 – Saturday, July 31, 2027 ■ Complete Official Records of “Valkyrie’s Adventure” 40th Anniversary This is a complete collection of records that compiles development materials, sketches, soundtrack CDs, arcade instruction cards, and developer interviews from all titles, starting with the Family Computer game “Valkyrie’s Adventure: Legend of the Key of Time.” This product was made possible through the ongoing development materials archiving activities that have been carried out since 2018 with Bandai Namco Studios and group companies, and many of the materials are being released for the first time. However, other games were planned in the lead-up to that release, and this product features surviving documents about those “phantom proposals.” The series continued after that, with the release of “Sandra’s Great Adventure: Encounter with Valkyrie” for the Super Famicom and “Valkyrie’s Adventure,” a remake for the PlayStation version of “Namco Anthology 2.” As many of the proposals and drawings created up to this point (including unreleased titles) as possible have been included in this product. ■Beautiful art by Hiroshi Fuji Hiroshi Fuji has consistently been in charge of character and world design for the “Walküre” series. We have included as many of his illustrations and rough concept sketches as possible. In addition to character design for all previous series, Hiroshi Fuji has also worked on image boards that build the worldview, and the amount of sketches he has created, including those that were not actually used in the games, is enormous. This book features as many of these as possible, bringing to life a never-before-seen Marvel Land after so much time has passed. ■Comprehensive Series Soundtrack The included soundtrack is all newly recorded. While the game was available on feature phones from various mobile phone companies, service for the game has now ended and it is no longer playable. To celebrate the series’ 40th anniversary, “Eiyou of Valkyries” has been ported for the first time as a playable
application for Windows. These games will be delivered on a dedicated CD-ROM. This is an action RPG released by Namco (now Bandai Namco Entertainment) for the Family Computer in August 1986. Players control the main character, “Valkyrie,” defeat enemies to gain experience points, and stay at inns to level up. Collect items in various locations to defeat the evil “Zouna” and restore peace to Marvel Land. Following the success of this game, the series expanded with a sequel, “Valkyrie’s Legend,” released as an arcade game in 1989, and “Sandra’s Great Adventure: Encounter with Valkyrie” for the Super Famicom in 1992. Furthermore, in 1996, the Windows digital comic “Valkyrie no Densetsu Gaiden Rosa no Bouken” was released, and in 1998, the PlayStation version “Namco Anthology 2” included both the original and arranged versions.
