At the time of its founding, the company was in charge of planning, casting, and producing the Sakuraza Theatre, a celebration of the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Edo shogunate in Tokyo. Since realizing a collaboration between Korean artists and Japanese musicians, the company has continued to promote exchange between Japan and Korea through music as its life’s work. A concert featuring Japanese and Korean artists held at Kioi Hall in January 2011 was attended by Her Imperial Highness Empress Michiko (now the Empress Emerita), an unprecedented event, and was widely reported by Korean television stations and mass media, including KBS. When the company held a concert to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and Korea, the event was reported nationwide on NHK’s “Good Morning Japan,” and the company has played a role of a goodwill ambassador as a private citizen. Libelante’s Jin Won was a Yonsei University student who had just completed his military service. He met producer Yukiko Kondo when she was looking for an artist to sing “And You” (lyrics by Goro Matsui, music by Kosuke Yamashita, currently uploaded to YouTube), a song she wanted a tenor to sing at Concordia’s 20th anniversary concert. He subsequently won a famous Korean audition program and made his professional debut as a member of the classical crossover group Libelante, winning numerous awards. On August 28, 2025, he won the Brand Award, the highest honor in the crossover category, at the First Brand Awards 2025. He is now extremely popular in Korea and continues to achieve remarkable success. He is pleased to announce that he will be holding a concert commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea in cooperation with EMK ENTERTAINMENT, the company to which he belongs, which has helped to raise the Korean musical scene to the global stage. He will be joined by internationally acclaimed performer Sarah Àlainn, who will perform alongside a Japanese orchestra. On the day of the concert, he will also debut “Across the Sea ~Kono Ai wo Ima” (Lyrics by Goro Matsui, Music by Michiru Oshima, Co-produced by Japan and South Korea), a song commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea.
