Sapporo International Short Film Festival (NoMaps Executive Committee) Press release: October 24, 2025 At the 20th Sapporo International Short Film Festival, the Best Domestic Film Award went to “Beyond Color, Seeing Blue” (director: Sybilla Patricia), and the Japan Premiere Award went to “Gekirai” (director: Ishihara Kai/starring: Aoi Yamada). Online screenings starting November 1st The 20th Sapporo International Short Film Festival received 2,386 entries from 91 countries and regions around the world, and this year’s award-winning works have now been announced! Approximately 70 carefully selected works, including the award-winning works, will be available to view online nationwide from November 1st to 16th.

Additionally, the Amino Up Hokkaido Director’s Award, presented by Amino Up Co., Ltd., was awarded to “Egg Classroom” (director: Ikeyama Tamako), a four-minute documentary on the theme of educational migration. The MicroDocs for SDGs Award, awarded to three-minute documentaries, saw “Owani Onsen Moyashi” (director: Nakata Kyojin) receive the Encouragement Award.
