New Nippon Storytelling Spinoff” has been held with guests, including Tachikawa Koshira, the “hilarious Tachikawa-style performer” who expands the possibilities of rakugo with his free-spirited thinking, and Suzususya Maruko, the “nuclear warhead of the Rakugo Association” who brings the traditions of yose (Japanese vaudeville) into the modern era with her bold adaptations of classic rakugo stories. Koshira, who has been a regular performer for 13 years since its predecessor, “Shin Nippon no Hanagei,” will be graduating with this performance as his final one. This graduation performance will feature not only Koshira and Umaruko, but also Yanagitate Shigaraki, who will make you laugh with his original new works, Tachikawa Kashime, who carries on Koshira’s legacy, and Natsuno Kamo, who creates fantastical worlds. These three, who have been regular guests until now, have been confirmed to succeed Koshira as new regulars from the next performance. What kind of performance will Koshira give in his final performance? And how will the four others entrusted with his successor respond to his graduating performance?
