The day of Sanetomo’s assassination arrives as the emotions of the sword warriors intertwine with those of historical figures such as Minamoto no Sanetomo, his wife Princess Kenshi, Hojo Masako, who struggles as a mother and a person of power, Kugyo, who is at the mercy of fate, and his escort Miura Yoshimura, and the conspiring Minamoto no Nakaaki. The Ogiri Shosakugoto “Maikyohana Touken Danshi” is a spectacular performance that combines the worlds of traditional Japanese dance and Touken Ranbu, featuring the Touken Danshi returning to the Kabuki Honmaru.
