perspective and a touch of humor, sharing memorable anecdotes, including commonplace experiences in the railway industry, untold tales that can no longer be told, and even the pride of being a railway worker. This book is intended for not only railway fans, but all readers who lived through the Showa and Heisei eras. The word “maru ni suru” (to make something perfect), as seen in the title of this book, is a slang term used in the railway industry. It refers to the skillful handling of mistakes and troubles. However, the stories recounted in this book are anything but “maru”! A true account of life on the railway. The struggles of former railway workers and the current state of the railway industry as it changes with the times── Before you know it, you too may find yourself traveling through a story.

After graduating from Ueno Commercial High School, he joined Kintetsu Railway in 1980. She has two years of experience as a station attendant, three years as a conductor, and 18 years as a driver. In 2003, she was scouted by the president of the Kasamatsu Horse Racing Tipsters Association and made her debut as a track-based tipster (under the name Daikokusha). In April 2005, she was widely reported in the media as the mentor to Japan’s only female track-based tipster. Currently, the number of tipsters at Kasamatsu Racecourse is on the decline, but she continues to post tips almost daily on netkeiba’s “Umai Baketsu” website. Since horse racing became my job, my only hobby has been watching the Intercity Baseball Tournament at Tokyo Dome.
