｜The motivation for the creation and our commitment ■The motivation and thoughts behind the creation──── We wanted to bring the comfort and gentle charm of the Suica penguin closer to people through the comfort and large size of Yogibo. “Suica Penguin Yogibo Hugger” was born from this idea. We paid particular attention to the balance of the head and body, and supervised the design through repeated prototyping and adjustments to ensure the roundness and cuteness characteristic of the Suica penguin were not compromised. As a result, the look and feel of the product truly express the “cuteness of the Suica penguin.” Now that it’s complete, we envision this penguin gently nestling alongside you in your everyday life. We hope you enjoy spending time in your living room or bedroom with the Suica penguin gently nestling beside you. – TRAINIART Representative ■Yogibo’s Response (Implementation of Comfort) ──── Because of its simplicity, the Suica penguin’s impression changes with even a 1mm difference in placement and balance. To preserve its delicate cuteness, Yogibo repeatedly reviewed the stitching and structure in search of the ideal shape. Sometimes unable to put into words “what is different,” we continued to pursue the source of the strangeness. These repeated trial and error efforts have led to the current design. Yogibo’s unique “omnidirectionally stretchable cover” and “gravity-directed flow of beads” structure create comfort, but also make it difficult to maintain its shape. How could we use this soft movement to recreate the Suica penguin’s characteristic form and expression? This was the biggest challenge in development.
