We are pleased to announce that Toshihiko Nakazawa, a professional dancer from Niigata Prefecture who is based in New York and active around the world, has been appointed as a “Niigata Tourism Ambassador.” To mark his appointment, our association presented him with a letter of appointment and a commemorative gift. Going forward, Nakazawa, who works both domestically and internationally as a “dancer who delivers dreams,” will be widely promoting the appeal of Niigata Prefecture. 【Profile of Toshihiko Nakazawa】 Born in Nishi Ward, Niigata City. He began dancing while attending university and moved to the United States alone in 2010. He has mastered a wide range of genres, including hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, and ballet, and has performed in a wide range of genres, from street dance to theater. He won the Apollo Theater Amateur Night in New York twice, in 2013 and 2014, and was selected as one of the top 100 performers out of 15,000 on the American dance program “So You Think You Can Dance.” He has appeared on Broadway and is the only Japanese performer on the multimedia sightseeing bus “THE RIDE.” In addition to performing on stage both in Japan and abroad, he has given lectures at over 300 schools nationwide, corporate training sessions, and workshops.
