We will continue to provide conditioning (treatments) and do our utmost to support them so that they can always maintain their best condition. ■Stage play “Closed Again Today – The Mountain Doctor’s Song” ＜Synopsis＞ In the 1970s, Mikawa Clinic stood at the top of the Nasu Highlands. Dr. Mikawa Taiyama (Emoto Akira) is devoting himself to providing medical care to the local community…or so he thought, but the clinic once again has a “Closed Today” sign. Today, he’s neglecting his work, spending his days hunting and playing pachinko with his bad friend, carpenter Rokusan (Sato Bissaku). As a result, Officer Chabata (Sasano Takashi) and the villagers call him a “quack doctor.” His headstrong and compassionate wife, Teruko (Watanabe Eri), cheerfully supports Taiyama, even as she keeps him under her thumb. The village is home to a diverse cast of eccentric residents, including Tamiyo (Eguchi Noriko), who lives alone deep in the mountains, and Shigeru (Hayashi Shota), the village’s poorest man, and his wife, Natsu (Ichikawa Miori). Meanwhile, a commotion shakes the village. Plans for a resort development have been raised on Mt. Washuha, a place boasting abundant nature. Tamiyo, who opposes the sale of the mountain, is shunned by the villagers, but Taiyama is moved by her love for nature. On the other hand, when he thinks about the village’s future, he cannot ignore development, and he continues to struggle day by day.
