Press Release: October 24, 2025 Beicho Office x Koshien History Museum Special Event: “Katsura Yoshiya Rakugo Performance at Hanshin Koshien Stadium” to be held on Sunday, December 21st! The Koshien Historical Museum, operated by Hanshin Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukushima-ku, Osaka City; President: Yusuke Kusu), is hosting the “Katsura Yoshiya Rakugo Kai” (Katsura Yoshiya Rakugo Performance), a rakugo performance by Katsura Yoshiya, a huge Hanshin Tigers fan, in the first-base bullpen, in cooperation with the Beicho Office. “Katsura Yoshiya’s Comedy Newcomer Grand Prix Jury Special Award (1997) and the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival Excellence Award (2013) will be held at Hanshin Koshien Stadium on Sunday, December 21st. Tickets will go on sale from Saturday, October 25th. Katsura Yoshiya became a disciple of Katsura Yoshitomo in 1994 and has continued to be active, winning awards such as the ABC Comedy Newcomer Grand Prix Jury Special Award (1997) and the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival Excellence Award (2013). While attending a rakugo performance, he encountered Katsura Yoshiaki’s rakugo and decided to become his disciple. He became a disciple of Katsura Yoshiaki in 1994, while still a member of the Kobe University Rakugo Study Group. He trained as an apprentice under the great master Katsura Beicho for three years, serving as his apprentice before going out on his own. He currently holds numerous rakugo performances across the country, primarily in the Kansai region, and is active in a wide range of fields, including television and radio. He is also a huge Hanshin Tigers fan, and on September 7th, he will be at Koshien Stadium to watch the Tigers win the Central League championship.
