Now, “The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl” and “The Tatami Galaxy” have been reborn together as a collector’s edition. It’s a heavy, boxed book with ingenuity in every detail! The editors, the authors, and most likely readers will be amazed at its luxury. To mark the 20th anniversary of publication, not only has a gorgeous collector’s edition been prepared. There are also bookmarks featuring phrases from each work, hand towels that allow you to reread the beginning of each work even while bathing, and a “Moonwalking Daruma Glass” in which you pour red balls into a glass, and a Daruma doll instantly appears on your desk. Graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at Kyoto University and completed a Master’s course at the Graduate School of Agriculture at the same university. In 2003, he made his debut with “Tower of the Sun,” which won the Japan Fantasy Novel Award. In 2007, he won the Yamamoto Shugoro Prize for “The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl.” The same work also placed second in the Booksellers’ Awards. In 2010, he won the Japan Science Fiction Award for “Penguin Highway.” His other works include “The Ecstatic Family,” “The Art of Love Letters,” “The Adventures of the Holy Slacker,” “Night Journey,” “Tropical,” and “The Triumphant Return of Sherlock Holmes.”
