The sound of the djembe captivates the morning studio. A percussionist from Guinea, West Africa, plays the djembe live in the studio, sharing music and culture.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2025, Bar Younan, an artist with the NPO Ichiki JAM and a practitioner of traditional Guinean music, appeared on FM Yokohama’s popular program “Lovely Day (Heart)” (hosted by Sayaka Kondo). During the program, he introduced his roots, his activities as an artist, and his cultural exchanges and workshops in Japan. Additionally, in the studio, they performed a live performance of the powerful rhythms of the djembe, a traditional Guinean percussion instrument, bringing a touch of West Africa to listeners. The program also introduced the “Africa Guinea Cultural Experience Tour 2026,” for which participants are currently being recruited.
