Kyary Pamyu Pamyu held her first solo concert since giving birth, “dreamin dreamin,” at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo on Saturday, October 25th. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu gave birth to her first child last year. This live performance, her first since “Celebrating Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall’s 100th Anniversary: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Special Live 2023 – Midnight Sun -” held in July 2023, is themed around the “happy dreams” and “sad dreams” she had before her child was born. She talks about being told she would have a miscarriage during her first pregnancy, and how, miraculously, her heart was beating on the day she decided to have surgery. Despite this, she continued to perform on stage while hiding her fear that she might miscarry at any moment. And that her baby was born safely, even though every day was like a prayer. The concert was packed with days of suspense and excitement, a roller coaster of emotions. As this was her first solo concert in about two years and three months, many fans gathered at the venue. Fans of all ages and genders eagerly awaited Kyary’s first concert in a long time, wearing a variety of outfits, including merchandise T-shirts, colorful Harajuku fashion, kimonos, Lolita fashion, and outfits modeled after Kyary’s costumes. Everyone, enjoy today until the very end!” Amid this euphoric atmosphere, characters representing the emotions inside Kyary’s head appeared and performed “Cosmetic Coaster.” The excitement in the venue rose again when she performed her signature song “Tsukema Tsukeru.” During “Kizunami,” fans raised their hands together, creating a sense of unity that made it hard to believe it had been such a long time since her last live performance. During the MC session, she explained the theme of the concert and recalled the anxious days of her first pregnancy, when she was at risk of miscarriage and premature labor. Still, their first child was born safely, and they shared with their fans the miracle of being able to perform at today’s concert. The next song was “OEDOEDO,” a song that had only been performed live once and has become legendary among fans. As it is a legendary song, the audience erupted in cheers when the title was called out. Continuing with this momentum, they performed a full slate of popular songs, including “100% of Myself,” “100% for You,” “CANDY CANDY,” “Todoke Punch,” and “Chamichamichamichamin.” They captivated the fans with a truly rollercoaster-like performance.

The stunning dance performance, which expressed the happiness, anxiety, and sadness that come with pregnancy, captivated the entire audience. Then, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu appeared in a new outfit, a sparkling apron, reflecting her new motherhood. She transformed the atmosphere in the venue with “Candy Racer,” then performed “Mi” and “Furisode-shon” in succession, bringing the excitement to a fever pitch.

In this atmosphere of unity, Kyary captivated the fans with “KURU KURU HARAJUKU,” before launching into hits like “Mondai Girl” and “Fashion Monster.” She also performed “Harajuku Iyahoi” and “Mottainai Land,” creating a lively atmosphere that made it hard not to feel the strong bond between her and her fans. The fun time flew by, and with the final song, “Oyasumi,” Kyary returned to her bed and fell asleep. The curtains were then drawn to a thunderous applause and the voice of her beloved child, bringing the main part of the concert to a close. During the encore, Kyary reappeared on stage wearing the bunny ears she often wore during encores at live shows since her debut. As the audience cheered at the nostalgic outfit, she performed her debut song, “PONPONPON.” It was a return to her roots, along with fans who had been waiting until this day for a performance that would never fade, no matter how much time has passed. The show ended with “Family Party,” where she created the biggest excitement of the day with the “family” in the venue, whom Kyary loves as much as her beloved daughter, before leaving the stage.
