Hump Back is a three-piece rock band from Osaka formed in 2009 in the light music club of a high school: Momoko Hayashi (Vocals, Guitar), Pika (Bass, Choir), and Misaki (Drums, Choir). They made their major debut with their first single, “Dear Shonen Yo,” on Vap in June 2018. Even now, seven years after its release, the song remains beloved by people of all generations, with over 100 million views on YouTube. Their vocals, which directly express real-life worries, struggles, and joys, and their simple yet powerful sound have garnered strong support from fans. Since July 2023, the band has been on hiatus from live performances due to members going on maternity leave, but in May 2024, they announced that all members had safely given birth. In December, they will hold a solo concert titled “Maternity Leave Thank You,” marking a full-scale resumption of activities.
