After graduating from the Department of Special Needs Education, Faculty of Education, National University of Tokyo, he worked as a homeroom teacher in a regular elementary school for eight years, a homeroom teacher at a special needs school (elementary school division) for five years, an investigator for a local government school attendance support committee (school attendance consultation), and a special needs education coordinator. After seeing “talented fellow teachers getting into arguments with parents, becoming mentally ill, and leaving school one after another,” she decided to become a professional school counselor. Currently, as a school counselor at elementary and junior high schools, she provides counseling for parents, children, and teachers, consults on adjusting the school environment, and supports students who have been absent or reluctant to attend school and want to return to school.
