Background: Building a distribution infrastructure for “small publishers” through bookstores In recent years, with the spread of social media and digital tools, we have entered an era in which anyone can freely share their thoughts and creations. Zines and little presses are at the forefront of this trend, attracting attention as a means of expression for “individual editing” and “non-commercial publishing.” On the other hand, bookstores faced the following challenges: • Complexity of direct transactions (ordering, payment, inventory management) • Risk of outright sales • The difficulty of selecting works due to fragmented information So, we integrated the sales track record and curation know-how of stores that already carry zines (such as Gran Green Osaka, Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama, and Eslite Spectrum Nihonbashi) and packaged it as a “concentrated book selection fair” that can be replicated in stores around the country. Project Overview: YURIDO SELECT “ZINE Little Press Fair” Item Content Deployment period Saturday, November 1, 2025 – Thursday, December 31, 2025 Stores Isezakicho Main Store / Totsuka Modi Store / Lumine Yokohama Store / Fujisawa Store / Terrace Mall Shonan Store / Tama Plaza Terrace Store / Atre Kawasaki Store / Granduo Kamata Store Deployment contents 8 titles x 5 books each (40 books in total) Operation Method We adopt a select package method, distributing selected book sets from a central warehouse to reduce the burden on stores. Existing Achievements: Multi-store network spreading “ZINE culture” We have started selling zines at the following stores, creating new opportunities for creators and readers to meet. • Yurindo Grand Green Osaka Store As the first store in the Kansai region to stock zines, we support local creative activities. • Yurindo Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama Store A permanent zine shelf will be set up in the station shopping complex “Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama.” • Eslite Spectrum Nihonbashi (Nihonbashi, Tokyo) A hub for urban culture, hosting events such as zine fairs and workshops. Building on these achievements, we will be expanding the number of participating stores at this fair, further expanding Yurindo’s cultural network. Book Selection and Storytelling: “The Current State of Culture Told Through Zines” The eight selected titles are of high quality, carefully selected from titles that have been featured on the official YouTube channel “A World Only Yurindo Knows,” have already been introduced in stores, and are deeply loved by purchasing staff. The book is comprised of multifaceted themes centered around “the creator’s passion,” “connections with the community,” and “new learning through books.” YURINDO SELECT “ZINE & Little Press Fair” Titles List Image
