merchandise such as crane game prizes. Leveraging the planning and development capabilities for “cuteness” cultivated through both businesses, the company is also focusing on global expansion, primarily in Asia and North America. In order to expand into overseas markets, we are also promoting efforts to localize Japanese photo booths for each country’s culture and language. We plan to develop two types of photo booths: “Localized Photo Booths” featuring localized features, and “IP Photo Booths” that add the appeal of characters. One of Furyu’s strengths is our ability to incorporate content that makes use of IP. Following our first foray into Thailand, we will continue to offer new photo booths that respond to the popularity of characters overseas. ■Press Release Regarding Global Expansion Mitsui & Co.
