Sekai Bunka Publishing will release “Koshino Junko Uchiwa Monogatari” (Uchiwa Story), a book featuring art by world-renowned designer Koshino Junko, created using fans as canvases, along with heartfelt words, on Friday, October 31, 2025. “Now, more than ever, let’s do what we can at home.” These are the words that Junko Koshino drew during the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by a deep-seated feeling. Based in Tokyo, he participated in the Paris Collection for 22 years. He has also held shows at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Beijing, Cuba, Myanmar, Spain, and other locations, promoting international cultural exchange. His work includes the operas “The Magic Flute” and “Madame Butterfly,” the Broadway musical “Pacific Overtures” (nominated for a Tony Award), the stage production “Matsuri GALA,” and costumes and sports uniforms for the Japanese drum group DRUM TAO. He also designs fireworks, interior design, food, and lifestyle in general. Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, he has also been involved in reconstruction support activities. He will serve as a senior advisor for the Osaka-Kansai Expo (Japan World
Exposition), which will be held from April to October 2025.
