[Social Action Network] Five types of lighthouse parfaits! See and hear more – experience the lighthouse in its entirety!! “Traveling Lighthouse Parfait” Exhibition Opens

Social Action Network Press release: October 28, 2025 To Members of the Press Five types of lighthouse parfaits! See and hear more – experience the lighthouse in its entirety!! “Traveling Lighthouse Parfait” Exhibition Period: November 1st (Sat./Lighthouse Memorial Day) – 8th (Sat.), 2025 / Venue: SIGNAL (Minato-ku, Tokyo) As part of the “Sea and Lighthouse Week 2025” campaign, the Maritime Culture Creation Forum, a general incorporated association that manages the Nippon Foundation’s “Sea and Lighthouse Project,” will be holding the “Traveling Lighthouse Parfait” exhibition at the social issue gallery “SIGNAL” (Minato-ku, Tokyo) for eight days from November 1st to 8th, “Lighthouse Memorial Day.” The approximately 3,000 lighthouses across Japan actually have a variety of unique personalities. This time, we’ve selected five of them and will be explaining their
characteristics and appeal. In addition, we’ll be holding a
collaborative exhibit featuring “The Light’s Keeper,” an
anthropomorphized lighthouse character. There will also be a listening area for audio dramas featuring the lighthouse characters, and a photo spot where you can take commemorative photos. We’ll also be offering five delicious and sweet “Lighthouse Parfaits,” developed based on lighthouses. See, hear, and taste—enjoy a full lighthouse experience. This campaign is part of the Nippon Foundation’s “Ocean and Japan Project,” which connects people through the ocean to ensure a rich and beautiful ocean for future generations. Due to limited quantities, advance reservations are recommended. What if those lighthouses were parfaits…? We’ve expressed the story of each lighthouse through parfaits, drawing on the culture and history of each lighthouse. ◆1. Lighthouse-shaped glass… Prepare a glass shaped like a lighthouse and arrange the ingredients in layers. ◆2. Mounded mountain… Use ingredients to represent the shape of a lantern. ◆Part 3: Lens decoration…Finish by adding sparkling material to resemble a lighthouse lens. [Example: Hiyoriyama Lighthouse Parfait] The Hiyoriyama Lighthouse is adorable with its red and white stripes. The parfait is made with agar made from the local red wine and yogurt cream layered in a mille-feuille pattern to represent the lighthouse’s colors. The lens is adorned with a cherry design, reminiscent of the glass floats used in herring fishing, an essential part of Otaru’s ocean. Lighthouses are expanding beyond their traditional role as navigational beacons, ensuring the safety of maritime traffic. This project explores the significance of lighthouses, unearths local maritime memories, and connects regions, fields, and industries, Japan, and the world, creating new maritime experiences.
