Efa Japan NPO Press Release: October 28, 2025 Online Reporting Session “A Place to Become Hope – Talking with Mr. Kurimoto of FAIR ROAD Oku-Noto Book Cafe” Efa Japan is working to deliver books to areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. We will be hosting an online briefing session with Masanori Kurimoto, who has supported children and young people both in Japan and abroad, to discuss creating spaces through books.

We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and their families. Efa Japan began visiting the Noto Peninsula in April 2024. Utilizing its knowledge of book support in Cambodia and Laos, it began delivering books to areas affected by the earthquake and heavy rains in November of the same year. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has supported our activities and will be holding an online briefing session to provide an update on the current situation. Our guest will be Mr. Kurimoto, founder of the NPO FAIR ROAD. He volunteered at our book cafe event held in Wajima in September. Mr. Kurimoto has been creating spaces for children in slums and refugee camps in Asia, as well as young people in Osaka, through books and learning. Drawing on this experience, he will talk about the significance of book cafes in disaster-stricken areas.
