Opening on Saturday, March 1, 2025, this new-age contemporary art museum, combining “nature and digital” and “character art,” will be headed by Shigeo Goto, a professor at Kyoto University of the Arts known for producing museum exhibitions such as those by photographer Kishin Shinoyama. The museum’s third special exhibition is “Characters are Words,” by Takakura Kazuki, the digital art genius who also created the museum logo. Further exhibitions are planned under the theme of “character art,” including solo exhibitions by AI artist Emi Kusano and globally renowned KAWAII artist Sebastian Masuda. Expect not only indoor installations of artworks, but also the contrast with outdoor art installations that utilize the rich natural environment of the forest and lake, which will be set at the Metsa.
