Tokyo” and with the cooperation of Hiroshima City, we produced and distributed a trilogy of short vertical dramas starring Popteen model Rei Mukai: “Shinto,” “Miyajima Koibito,” and “Suki na Hito to Suki na Hito.” Since their release on Friday, October 3rd, the series has surpassed 5.3 million total views. This work is a life-sized story woven by a cast and director from Hiroshima, with the themes of love, friendship, and youth. In conjunction with “Hiromatsu Holdings presents TGC HIROSHIMA 2025 by TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION,” scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, this project is being developed as a “new form of regional revitalization” that spreads the charm of Hiroshima nationwide through video. ■ Total views exceed 5.3 million! A bittersweet tale of youth woven by a cast and director from Hiroshima. Mukai plays a high school girl from Hiroshima who, during a school trip to Miyajima, ends up in the same group as a boy (Miyamoto Renya) she has a crush on, due to a lucky draw. As they stroll around and take commemorative photos in front of the great torii gate, the two gradually grow closer. This one-minute short drama captures a fleeting moment of innocent youth. This series stars Rei Mukai, a Hiroshima native and exclusive Popteen model, and is directed by Shohei Matsuura, a video director affiliated with HA-LU who is also from Hiroshima.

I speak in Hiroshima dialect on a daily basis, and I also speak in Hiroshima dialect in this short drama, so I think it’s a work that will make you feel the heart-fluttering emotions and friendship that come from being real with me. URL: https://prcdn.freetls.fastly.net/release_image/147367/42/147367-42-19d49e62d508423a8f50ddf630003fee-387×516.jpg Director Shohei Matsuura For this film, I planned and scripted the theme of “how to portray Hiroshima Prefecture beautifully.” I began to believe that the true beauty of Hiroshima lies not only in the scenery itself, but also in the people who grew up there. So, rather than just capturing the scenery beautifully, I focused on the people who live there. These three films are actually connected as a single story. Following the flow of “Best Friends,” followed by “Miyajima Koibito,” followed by “The Person I Love,” this series depicts the youth of three people: Rei, Kokoro, and Renya. Due to the format of a short drama, we were only able to depict a small part of the story, but I think viewers will be able to enjoy it more if they can imagine the “blank parts” of the story that are not depicted. My favorite scene is when Kokoro purposely rips open Rei’s paper bag in “Miyajima Koi Biyori” to assist her in her love life. The expression on Kokoro’s face after Rei and Renya leave is particularly amazing, so be sure to pay attention to it when you watch (lol).
